For the second alternative, I decided to adopt a more light and simple
approach. This can be seen especially through the use of primary colours.
The colours chosen were red, blue and yellow, following the colours of
our nation's flag. As I did on the first design alternative, the basic
shape of the "wau bulan" were again taken as a precedence and this design
approach was also adopted on the remaining alternatives because I think
the wau itself is a strong definition in introducing our heritage, especially
to foreigners.
Unlike the first alternative, this emblem of a wau bulan is more slanted
and unsymmetrical. This is so to make it look more dynamic and unique,
hence representing its club association (Majlis Pelayang Malaysia).
The body,
as you can see is coloured blue, the tail red, the spine yellow and the
decorations (beside the body, tail and above the spine) red. I chose yellow
for the spine because yellow symbolizes the value and majestic importance
of the spine as the backbone of the organization. Red was chosen for both
the tail and the decorations because red potrays strength and courage especially
to other kite oranizations throughout the world.
Lastly, blue was chosen [besides to even out the remaining hot
colours (yellow and red)] because blue represents calmness, purity and
freedom. As for the dots above the body and tail, they were applied there
to even out the dynamic shape besides symbolizing the "buah padi". Two
black uneven lines below the body and tail acts as their shadows, thus
creating the overall "wau bulan" form.
